Holiday Tree Lighting Goes Virtual!
Greater Loudonville Association Adapts Annual Event During COVID
COVID is not stopping the Greater Loudonville Association (GLA) from celebrating the holiday season and spreading good cheer to our community.
For many years, GLA has hosted a free community event at Loudonville Green to ring in the holidays. Volunteers from GLA decorate the white gazebo with a Christmas tree and other holiday decorations, and invite neighbors to gather together to sing holiday carols.
We want our Loudonville community to know that we are still here, thinking about them during the COVID pandemic. Rather than canceling our events, we have adapted the Tree Lighting to be celebrated virtually. Mr and Mrs Claus will still make an appearance for our virtual tree lighting in keeping with our GLA tradition.“
In addition, notable and new this year, GLA has something very special planned. Our Mr. and Mrs. Santa (played by GLA volunteers Peg and Leon Hovish) will be riding with the Shaker Rd Loudonville Fire Department to visit neighborhoods throughout Loudonville on December 19th. The route will be shared on our site.
A video of the tree lighting will be posted to Facebook.com/greaterloudonville on November 28th.
For media interested in photographing or videotaping Mr and Mrs Claus at Loudonville Green on November 21st, please coordinate with Camille Hoheb. Email: camille@camillehoheb.com | Cell (310) 720 1755
